Developers writing code for a mobile device go to great lengths to squeeze out every possible bit of performance. While desktop applications become more and more feature rich and consume an ever-expanding amount of memory, this luxury simply isn’t afforded to the iPhone. As anyone who’s ever fought to squeeze a 5% speedup out of SQLite will tell you, even the smallest performance gains can mean the difference between a killer experience and a killer headache.
That’s why we’re very pleased to announce that the latest build of Pinch Analytics consumes less than 100KB of system memory and uses less than 1% of the CPU while bursting. Similarly, we’re now transmitting under 2KB of data at peak, meaning that even the old, slow, EDGE-enabled iPhone sitting next to you now is fast enough to make our platform unnoticeable.
And one more thing…
