Anonymous - we understand your concerns, but Pinch Media's analytics package is designed to respect your privacy more than the web analytics packages used on the vast majority of webpages. Absolutely no personally-identifiable information is collected, statistics are available only in aggregate, explicit user opt-in is needed for geolocation (the 'where' part), specific GPS coordinates are never available, and unlike web pages (where by the time you land on one you're already tracked), you have the opportunity to read the terms of service and not install the application should you so choose.

We won't apologize for creating tools that allow developers the ability to understand how their applications are being used in aggregate. This allow them to improve the user experience through iterative development, and it's an essential part of growing a business.

What's Apple saying about including code into apps they sell in the AppStore which transfers usage data or even GPS data to third parties?
I can't believe they are happy with this.

And I, as a user, am not happy with this *at all*. I won't use an app that sends data about when, how and where I use it out to someone, whoever this is. No way. I would be really glad if would keep a public list of apps using your services, so I can avoid these apps.

Thanks for respecting my privacy.
